triVitale
One day back in June 2009 my trainer Scot told me about a program that was starting at Phoenix Fitness called triVitale. I had been training for over a year and was still 50 lbs overweight. I had lost weight successfully in the past after the birth of my first child, but here I was going on 3 years after the birth of my second child and I couldn’t drop the weight. Scot felt that I was the perfect candidate to try out the program that would help me get my food issues in check along with some extra guidance that I definitely needed.
My first meeting was July 15th, 2009 and I met with Eric and Jody who run triVitale. I was nervous since I was sitting there already feeling like a failure for being overweight in the first place. They quickly put me at ease and explained what the program was about and how it would work for me in an extremely personal and individual way.
The journey began that day and each week I looked forward to my meetings. The initial meetings provided me with new insight into how you can still eat wonderful foods and lose weight. I was provided with fantastic menus and food logs to help keep my mind and stomach in check. The added bonus of shopping lists really helped at the grocery store and was also a tool that I could hand family members when I couldn’t go to the store myself.
The program helped me look at my body and break down what needed to be done to reach my goal weight. I embraced their advice and felt for the first time that I was accountable for what was going to happen with my weight. The weigh-ins each week really help me stay on track and boost my confidence to go on, especially during those times when my morale is low.
Being part of this program has changed my life. It is now January 1st, 2010 and I have currently lost 39 lbs and my body fat is down 6.5%. I have lost 20 inches off my chest, waist and hips combined. I have dropped down 4 clothing sizes and my body keeps changing everyday. In the past this is the stage where I would stall and get too comfortable. It’s easy to trick yourself and mind into saying, “this is good enough”, but I feel that with all the support I have around me with the program that giving up is not an option.
This is not a diet. This is a program for your life. It is not gimmicky. triVitale is working for me because if I start to have problems I know Jody and Eric will adjust it to take into account my daily stresses. I don’t feel like they will blame me if I have a bump in the road. I know that they are there for me if I need to talk. The combination of the menu plans, advice and support have provided me with a new lifestyle.
I feel strong and healthy for the first time in a many years. I am grateful to Phoenix Fitness and the triVitale program, primarily to my mentors, Jody Brown and Eric Olympico. I can’t thank them enough for their enthusiasm and for providing me with the motivation and challenge that I needed. I have to thank my trainer Scot Dawson for recommending me for the program in the first place and being a strong motivator in the process. His workouts have complemented the program and have transformed the shape of my body as I lose the weight. The triVitale team along with Phoenix Fitness has been behind me all the way and I know I will succeed in my journey.
